Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd is an American comedian, actor, author, and television persona who is famous for being co-host of the popular daytime talk show "The View," and also for her roles in several well-known sitcoms.Shepherd was born on April 22, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of LaVerne and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father served as a deacon in the church that was part of the family. She also managed restaurants while her mother cleaned houses. Shepherd is the third oldest of three children. She attended Hoffman High School.While working as an attorney's secretary in Beverly Hills, Shepherd began doing stand-up comedy. She ultimately decided to leave her job in order to pursue an entertainment career after she was a part of the sitcom that lasted only a few episodes, "Cleghorne!" The show ran on The WB network for one season in 1995. Shepherd was forced to leave the show in 1995 due financial problems. She stayed on for one year with her family while she sought job. In the year 1996, Shepherd was cast as guest on "The Jaime Foxx Show" created by Jaime Foxx. This sitcom ran until 2001. She also got recurring roles in "Suddenly Susan" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" in the late 1990s.
