Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only child to Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she turned 16. The Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also highly praised. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring the divas. Alexandra is known for her participation in a variety of important projects in both the US as well as internationally. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. She has also been an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
